Introducing Merrimack Chiropractor Dr. Antonio Giancola

“My Mother had suffered for years with chronic pain and physical distress. Drugs had worked but it is hard to raise small children when you can't focus,” recalls Dr. Giancola. “My mother had to be carried into the office of our chiropractic doctor and was able to walk out.” “Thankfully, we as a family continued to receive regular chiropractic care and have never had to endure my mother's experience or chronic illness. I remember being sick was very rare growing up, so I chose chiropractic as a profession because I wanted others to have the same experience and quality of life that I had.”

Dr. Giancola graduated from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario earning a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology (genetics) and Chemistry. After completing his undergraduate studies, he was accepted and entered Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Giancola's post graduate studies included courses in biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, x-ray diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College Clinic. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 1998 and moved to New England to establish his practice. Dr. Giancola also has completed and meets all requirements for both state and national board certification. He is committed to continuing education and high practice standards.

“My mission is to educate and adjust as many families as possible using natural chiropractic care, to bring people closer to their God-given potential by helping them to maximize their inner healing ability,” continues Dr. Giancola. “I love health and the drive to attain optimum health for my patients and their families. This is why I make it a point to educate them on a wellness lifestyle that has been so successful for me and my entire family. Caring for complete families and witnessing their health success is both my honor and pleasure.”

Dr. Giancola is married to Ellen and they have two children; Emma and Vincenzo. Both parents are proud of the fact the their children live the wellness lifestyle. (If this sounds interesting, be sure to ask how they have done it, and if you don’t believe it, they will happily provide you with the family doctor’s phone number.) On occasion, you may see the Giancola children running around the office, getting adjusted and spreading smiles and laughter. “Children are an important part of our office and our lives,” adds Dr. Giancola. “I love my family and want a healthy well adjusted lifestyle for them. Having my children around the office frequently, affords me the opportunity to show my patients the effects of the wellness lifestyle first hand and to maximize the family time we spend together while serving my community.” Dr. Giancola is an avid runner and cyclist. "I think it is important for everyone to have a hobby that involves movement. As the old adage says… if you don't move it, you lose it", states Dr. Giancola. Aside from running shoes and bicycles, he and his family love nature and enjoy the outdoors. You may see them spending time together at local parks or they may be off to their favorite hiking spot.

Community service is an important part of the Giancola family's daily life. They volunteer their services and contributions for many community charities and service organizations. Dr. Giancola also donates his time to educate the public on health and leading a wellness lifestyle. He has completed a post doctorate study program in wellness education and is a Certified Wellness Practitioner. “Want to reduce your health care expenses and increase your vitality?” asks Dr. Giancola. “Check out our Half Hour to Health section of our website, or contact our office to schedule a talk for your organization today! I enjoy researching and presenting topics regarding disease and nutrition, with an emphasis on children’s issues and wellness.”

Dr. Tony Asks some important questions of interest to Merrimack residents - Chiropractor Merrimack Dr. Tony Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
